M-Gateway

M-GatewayM-Gateway provides a way to instantly communicate with customers via their mobile phone. The service can deliver messages, reminders, tickets and coupons, including Mobill’s machine-readable coupons based on Mcode technology.

The simple web interface can be used directly by marketing or customer service staff. The API interface enables operational and marketing systems to communicate using SMS.

Web Interface

Customer lists can be loaded up from text or Microsoft Excel® files. Once in the system, the lists can be viewed and managed.

M-Gateway interface

Messages can be designed and sent as

  • Normal SMS (delivered to Inbox)
  • Flash SMS (instant display)
  • WAP Push (URL opens in browser)

Built-in STOP list feature means that messages are not sent to customers who have opted out.

Users can track status and usage of the service.

Billing is per message, with pre-pay and post-pay options.

M-Gateway API Interface

The API interface makes it easy for client systems to send messages to customers’ mobile phones. An Mcode can be included in the message where tickets, events or coupons are distributed. A message can be sent to just one recipient (for example a transaction status message), or broadcast to many hundreds of thousands or more if required. The STOP list must be manually managed when sending via the API.

M-Gateway For Electronic Coupons

M-Gateway can effectively send large or small quantities of electronic coupons directly to customers’ mobile phones. When a coupon is redeemed, it is validated. This ensures that it is genuine and also enables coupon redemption to be tracked at individual customer level.

System Operation

Coupons are distributed to customers using SMS. The customer never leaves home without the coupon because it’s in the SMS Inbox. When the customer is ready, the coupon can be used.

M-Code nordic

Coupon Broadcast to customers:

  1. Customer mobile phone list is created and loaded to M-Gateway.
  2. Offer and message are designed.
  3. M-Gateway sends out the coupons.
  4. Results (e.g. sent/received/failed) can be viewed.

Customer redeems the coupon:

  1. Customer locates coupon in SMS Inbox and opens the message.
  2. Customer presents a coupon for redemption.
  3. Coupon is scanned. Scanner communicates with MSP using Mobill Communications Protocol.
  4. MSP returns coupon status such as valid, invalid, expired.
  5. Coupon is cancelled to prevent re-use.

Processing the coupon in terms of providing the goods, service or discount can be performed manually or automatically, by integrating the Point of Sale system via WebAPI.

At any time during the campaign, the redemption rate can be monitored together with the list of customers who have used the coupon.

Mcode

Mcode is Mobill’s patented solution for machine-readable electronic tickets. Mcode uses a block of characters to convey the ticket ID and works via SMS or over the Internet. The ticket can be scanned using an Android app and a point of sale validator is in development.
