World première of a new service for buying refreshments from kiosks, using the world’s first safe SMS-Payment service for arenas.

WyWallet, the new mobile payments company set up by the four Swedish mobile operators, Telia, Tele2, Telenor & 3, and Mobill, who offer M-Commerce software and services, have launched a new payment solution for pre-payment via SMS. The new solution is being premièred during the  Ice Hockey World Championship at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, together with Globen’s catering service, Global Eatertainment. Mobill is also launching the Mobill Validator , the world’s first safe validation solution for SMS-Payments at arenas.

”We are very pleased to be co-operating with WyWallet and we see huge potential for this payment solution, before, during and after visits to arenas throughout Sweden” said Joakim Nilehn, Mobill’s CEO.

With this payment solution, visitors to the arena can now order up food and drink by SMS and then pick it up at special counters. This way, they bypass the queue and get their sausages and beer much faster.

”Mobill has taken SMS-payment a step further,” said Adam Hasslert, Marketing Manager of  WyWallet. ”Arenas really need a fast, safe payment solution because of the short breaks when everyone wants to be served at the same time. Together with Mobill, we have created an innovative solution.”

The aim is to roll out Mobill and WyWallet’s integrated solution to arenas across Sweden, supporting large events such as the Swedish Premier Division football and Elite Series hockey, together with other types of event that attact large audiences.  Our partner Global Eatertainment runs all the catering for the Ericsson Globe, Hovet and Annexet arenas in Stockholm.

”With the option to order and pay for refreshments using the mobile phone, we can offer a better service to our visitors. Our outlets get new opportunities to reach customers who have previously stayed away because of long queues. That gives us access to new revenue streams and improved profits” said Claes Hanngren, Senior Advisor at Global Eatertainment.

No special registration is needed to use the solution, provided that the mobile account is authorised to use SMS as a payment method. When ordering, the customer can say at which kiosk the goods are to be collected, making it as fast and easy as possible. The payment is taken from the mobile bill.

Mobill’s innovative M-Event solution works with all types of mobile phone, which makes it unique.  It’s very simple and quick to use and is based on robust technology together with a patented validation technique which makes it impossible to fake a ticket. Mobill’s Validator even includes an NFC chip, so it is ready for contactless communications solutions in the future.
