Kalmar Länstrafik launches Mobile Ticketing

» Posted on Feb 15, 2012 in Consumer

Mobill’s M-Ticket solution gains another customer on 15th February when Kalmar Länstrafik (KLT) launches mobile ticketing. KLT is the public transport operator for Kalmar County in south-west Sweden. Mobile tickets are valid on all buses and trains in the county.

Tickets are purchased using KLT’s mobile app, Mobitime, which provides real time information about timetables, stations and arrival times; the traveler can see if there are any delays. Mobitime is presently available for Android, iOS (iPhone) and as a java app for other phones such as featurephones.

To get the app, visit KLT’s website or send an SMS with text KLT to 0730-125 250. If you have an Android or iOS device, search for Mobitime in Android Market or iTunes App Store.

Mobill has worked with KLT, Infospread and Forsler & Stjerna to integrate our M-Ticket solution to provide payment, ticketing and administrative services. M-Ticket works out the cost and journey time using real-time access to KLT’s timetable and route data.

Mobill’s M-Ticket application enables consumers to buy public transportation tickets by mobile phone and get them delivered electronically to their mobile phone. Buying a ticket is simple and quick, with no need for coins and no paper ticket to lose. The payment is taken from the mobile bill or pre-pay balance and the ticket acts as an electronic receipt too. Users in Sweden can buy tickets using Telia Mobile Wallet.
